Sometimes the seemingly simple scriptures can be the most heartfelt and lovely. David expresses his love for God in a passionate psalm and is grateful for the love of God in his life. He pours out his heart, knowing God hears him and doesn’t hold back his words in a gracious supplication, expressing himself and his undying love. We would do well to follow in David’s footsteps and open our hearts to God and lavish Him with our carefully chosen words of love. However, if you are not inclined to flowery words, take a page out of David’s book and pour out your soul to God with the words of Psalms 116. Here is a snippet to get you started. Pray or sing these words and watch as God holds your hand and walks you through another day, comforting you in your stress. He is the only one we can truly count on for help in times of trouble, so we should voice our love for Him every day.

I love the LORD, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications. Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon him as long as I live. The sorrows of death compassed me, and the pains of hell gat hold upon me: I found trouble and sorrow. Then called I upon the name of the LORD; O LORD, I beseech thee, deliver my soul. Gracious is the LORD, and righteous; yea, our God ismerciful. Psalms 116:1-5
