September 5

I have a palm tree that was once sitting on my porch, but because of the wind, it got knocked over a couple of times, so I brought it inside. Unfortunately, because the inside of my house doesn’t get enough light, it has failed to thrive; it looks sad and has turned brown. So today, one of my tasks is to put it back on the porch, trim off the dead, find a secure place out of the wind, and hope that the light will bring it back to life. We are that palm tree if we hide in the dark away from the light of Jesus, and neglect ourselves by not coming into his presence regularly. If you’ve been out of communication with him for a while, I feel a sense of urgency for you to call to him, and for you to bask in his light once again. There is also no time like the present to gather your family and people you love and remind them of how much you love them and encourage them to accept God’s free gift of eternal life through Jesus. He is the only one who can take the dead, trim off the sinful branches, and bring them back to life eternal. Don’t wait! They need to be exposed to the light before they die, or before the saints are caught up with Jesus in the clouds; we are close, so there is no time like now to encourage their salvation.

For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17

September 4

Yesterday, I watched a video that set my heart on fire for the lost. I encourage you to watch it. The man in the video is explaining what is now taking place that lines up with biblical prophecy; even if the warning turns out to be wrong, the message is clear, time is short and maybe shorter than we think. God has given me a new evangelical mission; as uncomfortable as I am with face to face encounters, I cannot hold back and must tell everyone I meet about Jesus. After feeling the urgency of this message, I witnessed to five different people in one day! I worked in ministry for two years and never proclaimed the gospel that many times in a day. I even went back to my Baptist roots and asked a man, ”if you were to die today, do you know for sure that you would go to Heaven?” I haven’t used that term forever! I don’t wish for anyone to be left behind; the chaos and evil will be too much to handle. Those who decide to accept Jesus after we are raptured will endure much torment and will have no choice but to lay down their life for Jesus if they want to save their life in eternity. The mark of the beast is post-rapture, don’t worry about it now; we will be gone when it is required for purchases. If wrong, then no harm is done, but if right, salvation will come to many more.

Please go to my Facebook profile and watch the video marked “Bible Prophecy Update - September 2.”

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:6

September 3

It’s five in the morning, but I’m not ready to get up, so I go back to sleep and don’t get up until seven. That five a.m. call to get up was from God, and I slept through it. From seven to eight, I was distracted by things going on in my house, and now I’ve cut short my time in God’s Word, but I managed to learn, even then. Many people get up early to work out their bodies, but what about their brains? From where does your wisdom come? The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom; don’t cut short your time with him. If you get control of your eating habits, you won’t need to work out so hard and can spend quality time with the Father, and put Jesus first in your life. Your brain works better after you fast, so the best time to study should be in the early morning hours. Have your coffee, but avoid the sugar. If you must have your coffee sweet, use a carbohydrate-free sweetener. I know this is not a very powerful message, but if you needed direction on this issue, a few pointers could help.  Proverbs 2 is all about wisdom; put it on your reading list today.

if you seek it like silver and search for it as for hidden treasures, then you will understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of God. For the LORD gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding; Proverbs 2:4-6

September 2

Every morning, I come downstairs to all the windows frosted with condensation, which prohibits me from seeing out. As a person of nature, I need to be able to see the works of God’s hand as I study. This need became evident when we bought a condo in a high rise, and I couldn’t see the trees anymore, though I could see the water, thank goodness. That made it essential for me to fill my porch with plants. Anyway, I got the bright idea that I would use a squeegee to clean off the condensation so I could see again. As I finished reading my scripture, about an hour later, the condensation was back; that gives you an indication of how hot it is here. This can also be a lesson in understanding scripture. Sometimes you are going to read it, and it will be clear what God is trying to tell you, and you will easily understand its meaning, but then there will be other times that it feels like glass with condensation, where the information is hazy at best. Don’t get dismayed; God will make it clear when it’s necessary for you to understand it. I’ve read the Bible cover to cover a few times, but never has it been more clear to me than it is now, but not all of it; some things are still hazy, and that’s okay; God will give me and you clarity when the time is right.

If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. James 1:5

We are at war, but not the kind of war you might be thinking of, where guns and ammunition are used, we are engaged in a spiritual war between the satanic and our God. The weapons of this war are different and need to be battled in the spirit. Don’t be naive; the flesh is also involved, Satan has many weapons, and he will do battle against the physical as well; but because our help comes from the Lord, we must engage spiritually. I feel that it’s crucial for me to go over our weapons of war once again; here’s your reminder so you can shore up your armor:

  • Conquer unbelief
  • Stay free of sin
  • Trust God
  • Be secure in your salvation
  • Listen to the Holy Spirit

Paul gives us a list in Ephesians 6. Read it today. It’s more important than ever that we listen and armor up.

*For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. *Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. *Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, *and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. *In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; *and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, *praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints, Ephesians 6:12-18

August 31

Yesterday, I left the house when there was a break in the rain. My Mac was at BestBuy to see if it could be repaired and I needed to pick it up. While standing at the counter waiting to be helped, it started pouring again. When leaving, I waited by the door, but it never lets up, so I decided to run for it, with my broken computer in tow. I was completely drenched! However, I hadn’t finished with my errands and still had to get out at the grocery store! Still wet from coming out of BestBuy, I made a run for it into Publix, and I left my grocery list in the car! I did my best to remember what was on it and only forgot something minor. The point of the story is, life must go on, even when it’s a bad day. Though 2020 seems tragic, we must continue to live our lives and do our best to get through it. There will be days that are better than others, but we can’t quit; that’s not an option. Put your seatbelt on; 2020 is not over yet. The ride might get bumpy, and we might get wet running through the rain of terror, but we can’t quit. The plans of God must go on, and he will see us through it.

Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him. James 1:12

August 30

I have a warning for you today. If God has given you favor and has allowed you to serve him in a capacity beyond yourself, I’m speaking to myself too, don’t you dare complain, or feel sorry for yourself if that comes as a heavy load. God does not look kindly on those who complain about and feel burdened for working for him; you will surely pay the price for your selfishness. We are to do the will of God on his behalf and not seek worldly comforts. This revelation speaks to me today! God forgive me for wanting the pleasures of this world. We need to follow him without seeking self-satisfaction and do his will. Follow Jesus with your whole heart. We must get over ourselves and let the Holy Spirit take the lead and forget about what others think of us, we are to please God, or we will pay the price for our disobedience.

Baruch was the writer for Jeremiah; he also read his prophecies before others in some instances. He complained, and Jeremiah got a word from the Lord concerning him. God remembered him complaining. He was merciful and allowed him to keep his life, but it doesn’t sound like he was thriving. Pay attention to your words, check your heart, and ask forgiveness quickly, then be an obedient servant.

Thus shall you say to him, Thus says the LORD: Behold, what I have built I am breaking down, and what I have planted I am plucking up—that is, the whole land. And do you seek great things for yourself? Seek them not, for behold, I am bringing disaster upon all flesh, declares the LORD. But I will give you your life as a prize of war in all places to which you may go.” Jeremiah 45:4-5
