When Hell is unleashed, it is those who have rejected God that will receive the torment, not his children.

They were told not to harm the grass of the earth or any green plant or any tree, but only those people who do not have the seal of God on their foreheads. Revelation 9:4

I don’t have any mark on my head, do you? How many times must God tell us that it is not our outward appearance that matters and that it’s what’s in your heart that counts? We accept Jesus as our Savior through the Holy Spirit, but it takes a bit of head knowledge to do that; therefore, we are marked because of our belief. Revelation is not a straightforward message, it was a dream or vision, and like any dream, there is an interpretation that needs to occur using the clues from the dream. God includes stories in the Bible to help us with this interpretation, but we need to be diligent in combing the scriptures to uncover the meaning. There are stories of Joseph and Daniel interpreting the dreams of kings, and they weren’t straightforward or easily understood. God will give us interpretation as he sees fit.

Here is what gets me excited: we have the seal of God through our salvation in Jesus. That makes me feel special, how about you?

I wish I had taken a picture of the black ketchup I found in a cabinet yesterday and the salsa that dated back to 1996! I suppose that if I stayed in one place long enough, I might collect some ancient food that’s too scary to eat. I learned that canned foods do not last forever, especially if stored in plastic containers, and it may be a good idea to read the label to make sure what you eat isn’t expired. Do you know what doesn’t expire if kept in a sealed container? Rice! Those preparing for the apocalypse may want to put away large bags of rice; it’s a safe bet to last indefinitely; that’s according to the internet. Out with the old and in with the new might be a good idea when it comes to food, but it’s not a good idea for biblical truths. The Bible is chock full of ways to live, namely Jesus, that will help you preserve your life long after your expected expiration. If you have a choice to become ketchup and turn black when spoiled or rice that keeps its freshness, I suggest you become like rice and live indefinitely! I know this may seem a bit silly, but eternity is no joking matter, and there is only one way to be sure of everlasting life, and that is through Jesus. There is no other way.

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:6

Richard and his guys have been working feverishly to prepare his dad’s home because we are moving in! In the Old Testament, a portion says God will not leave an area vacant for too long because the wild animals will overtake it. Well, his dad’s home has become overgrown because he never liked to cut back his plants, so they are clearing the brush away from the house. Yesterday, I went by to see the progress and noticed a huge limb had fallen. I asked Richard if it was there when they left, and he was shocked when he saw it. It reminded him that he was doing the right thing by getting in there and hacking away at the overgrowth. It also shows why it’s essential to maintain your trees and plants.

Have the weeds in your life begun to take over? Have your pruning sheers become rusty and dusty? We must stay well-groomed, cutting away the dead branches and trimming back the ones that don’t produce. One small sin, comparable to a small weed, can easily become a tree quickly if you are not diligent in removing it before it gets too big. The tools you need to remove them are your Bible, prayer, and Jesus! Don’t let them become rusty, or you could end up having a dead limb fall on you!

“I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit. John 15:1-2

We’ve been away from the house a lot, and my dogs are used to us being there more. The poor things have also had to adjust to all the changes. I’ve slowed down over the last couple of days, and they’ve loved curling up next to me, especially since it’s been chilly outside. I’m sure life will settle down over the next few weeks, but until then, I will embrace every chance I get to spend with them. They bring such comfort to us. We’ve done a whirlwind tour of homes over the last several years; they were country dogs, city dogs, beach dogs, though they are still beach dogs, and now back to the country, which is where we will settle and stay as long as the Lord allows.

We’re looking forward to a life of chickens, cows, fruit trees, and maybe even a garden if we get ambitious. Things change, and if we aren’t flexible, we could break, so when God takes you on a journey, be grateful that he chose you for the adventure.

He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Psalms 23:2-3

The enemy is very cunning. If he could make people believe that the Bible is not the Word of God, then the majority of his work is done. He knows and believes in the Bible, but he also has a job to do, and that is to deter anyone from turning to Jesus for their salvation. Rather than hate the deceived, we must feel sorry for them and their stupidity. They look at us like we are gullible for falling for God’s Word and accepting it as truth, but one day they will find out, and it will be an ugly scene. Keep praying and directing people to Jesus. One of the best gifts a friend or family member can give you is knowing we will see them again after their time or our time on earth ends.

Is Jesus opening the seals? Only time will tell, but I wouldn’t doubt it. The earth’s inhabitants are in distress, and much of the prophecy written throughout the Bible seems to be coming to fruition.

They cried out with a loud voice, “O Sovereign Lord, holy and true, how long before you will judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?” Revelation 6:10

Today, I will spend the day regenerating energy. I’ve gone so long without a real break that I’ve become run down. I will rest in Jesus. I know that many of you go and go, forgetting to care for yourself so you can continue to do your best work for him, but don’t forget, he also took time out, away from the madness, to recuperate. We cannot be effective if we become sick or worn out. Take a break today, spend some quality time with the LORD, read his Word, pray, and worship; you will become rejuvenated and able to fight the good fight because we need everyone’s full attention on the details of this spiritual war.

But he would withdraw to desolate places and pray. Luke 5:16
