To the followers of Christ: Jesus had to come not only to save us from our sins, but also because the people, the J*ws, who were given the law of Moses, which no other nation had, needed their understanding corrected. At every opportunity, Jesus was found teaching in the temple, especially during ceremonial celebrations of God's provision, like the Feast of Tabernacles, which, if you don't know what that is, was a time of camping as they did during their wilderness journey out of Egypt. Note: they didn't understand how Jesus knew so much, having never been formally taught, but he answered by saying that anyone who does the will of God knows His doctrine. Like Jesus, we get this information free from the Holy Spirit! However, we confirm our understanding by studying the scriptures.
If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself. John 7:17
Remember, they were after him for healing a man on the sabbath, so Jesus pointed out that they always break the sabbath law to carry out Moses' law to circumcise a baby on the 8th day, whether it was on the sabbath or not. Jesus had only spoken the man's healing into existence, yet they circumcise on the sabbath, which is physical and a bloody ritual. Jesus pointed out their hypocrisy.
If a man on the sabbath day receive circumcision, that the law of Moses should not be broken; are ye angry at me, because I have made a man every whit whole on the sabbath day? Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment. John 7:23-34
