How do you know who is evil and who is good? Rats and roaches come out under cover of darkness so that we won’t exterminate them in broad daylight, but we know they are there because they leave their droppings all over the place. The only way to expose them is to draw them out with poisoned bait or traps set with the food they love.

Evil humans are comparable to rats and roaches, and I think this scenario is playing out because who has ever seen so many villainous people becoming exposed? Though we may not understand the way God chose to draw them out, like medical tyranny, congressional insider trading, and other fraudulent activity of our “so-called” leaders, his methods are perfect in every way. They’ve taken the bait and are scurrying around like a sprayed roach! Some are starting to eat the cheese in the trap; the smackdown is coming!

The following verses are true of what is happening now; we are witnesses to the fulfillment of prophecy! Thank you, Jesus, that we didn’t fall for their schemes and get caught up in this mess!

Now I want to remind you, although you once fully knew it, that Jesus, who saved a people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed those who did not believe. And the angels who did not stay within their own position of authority, but left their proper dwelling, he has kept in eternal chains under gloomy darkness until the judgment of the great day— Jude 1:5-6

Reminder: in these verses, he removes the evil, not the good.

Then two men will be in the field; one will be taken and one left. Two women will be grinding at the mill; one will be taken and one left. Therefore, stay awake, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming. Matthew 24:40-42

It’s that time of year when you see the most seashells wash up on the beach. I don’t usually pick up broken shells, but yesterday, I found a tiny piece of the elusive Junonia, a sea snail that lives in deeper waters and rarely washes ashore. It’s like the holy grail of seashells, and it’s every collector's dream to find one. I have one, but I found it at an antique store in the North Georgia mountains and paid $20 for it. I recognize its value; however, there is more value in finding one myself. It’s similar to acknowledging who Jesus is but not knowing him personally; it’s also comparable to me finding a sliver of the Junonia; it carries little value. Finding a whole Junonia is like knowing him as your Lord and Savior and is the ultimate treasure to be found. Many religions and cults claim to know Jesus, but according to them, his attributes are not the same as our Messiah; they worship his name without understanding the truth of who he is, they have a sliver of him, but not the whole person. Soon, they will see the real Jesus, and he will expose the truth. We pray as we wait for that glorious day.

Beloved, do not imitate evil but imitate good. Whoever does good is from God; whoever does evil has not seen God. 3 John 1:11

I glanced out my window toward the bird feeder, and I thought my eyes were deceiving me; I saw a Painted Bunting! I had only seen such a bird in pictures; never did I ever believe I would see one, especially not at my own backyard feeder. He sat there for quite a while too, so I was able to share my excitement with my husband and snap a picture.

A couple of hours later, I looked out, and there was a chartreuse, greenish-yellow bird feeding; it was the female Painted Bunting! We’ve all seen the unique creations of God, but when it shows up in your backyard, it gives you a sense of how special and blessed you are to him that he thought to add a bit of joy to your day.

With everything going on in society right now, look for bits of delight, even if it’s as simple as the sighting of a tiny bird. God knows how to bring us joy while we wait for his return. Be patient in adversity and joyful in the simple things.

Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer. Romans 12:12

January 12 Round 2

We are watching the swamp drain with many in Congress leaving their seats by not running again; I say we need to watch the pulpits too. Some preachers are part of the swamp. Pray with me that God opens the eyes of the parishioners by revealing the false teachings of the pastors and teachers who sold us out to the enemy. Remember, though, some of them may have their hearts right but were deceived and taught wrong; forgive them if they come clean. Ultimately, for this reason, it is vitally important that you know God’s word!

For many deceivers have gone out into the world, those who do not confess the coming of Jesus Christ in the flesh. Such a one is the deceiver and the antichrist. Watch yourselves, so that you may not lose what we have worked for, but may win a full reward. Everyone who goes on ahead and does not abide in the teaching of Christ, does not have God. Whoever abides in the teaching has both the Father and the Son. 2 John 1:7-9

January 12

These four verses are the only places in the Bible the word “antichrist” is mentioned and in each case, it’s it eludes that there are multiple and that they are already here, and that was back in biblical days:

Children, it is the last hour, and as you have heard that antichrist is coming, so now many antichrists have come. Therefore we know that it is the last hour. 1 John 2:18

Who is the liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, he who denies the Father and the Son. 1 John 2:22

and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you heard was coming and now is in the world already. 1 John 4:3

For many deceivers have gone out into the world, those who do not confess the coming of Jesus Christ in the flesh. Such a one is the deceiver and the antichrist. 2 John 1:7

Other names mentioned are:

Man of lawlessness

False christs

False prophets

Son of destruction

There is no easy fix to avoid deception, but if you stick to the Word of God, listen to the Holy Spirit, and pray, you may avoid falling into the trap set by the enemy.

And Jesus answered them, “See that no one leads you astray. For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and they will lead many astray. Matthew 24:4-5

My husband has been clearing a property that we may build on; I say “may” because nothing is ever sure in this world but Jesus’s return; however, we must continue to live while we wait. I’ve been looking for a sign that this property is the right one and yesterday, I saw it. It’s something so simple, but it’s a tell-tell sign from God that we’ve chosen the right location. I say this because he always meets my request, maybe not immediately, but eventually; that’s why you must remember the things you petition for in prayer. You don’t even need to state your request out loud in the form of a prayer; sometimes, he answers your desires, like my mental checklist. God is probably the one who gave me the list; remember, he gives us the desires of our heart, meaning he’s put those desires in place to get credit for fulfilling them. The sign he gave me was a fruit tree, not a tree that I plant because I could do that on any property, but one already there. I can’t tell you the joy that came over me when I saw it. This parcel of land has everything I love. Now we wait to see if everything falls into place.

Stay sharp, pay attention to your desires, and give God thanks when he fulfills them.

And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him. 1 John 5:14-15

A couple of years ago, my mom, my daughter, and I took a walking tour of Ybor City in Tampa. It’s an old Cuban cigar factory town established in 1885. It is full of history, with row houses and fancy clubs that once entertained the workers and their families on the weekends. The tour took us through a portion of the city that the Scientologists purchased to do whatever Scientologist do. As we walked through their establishment, I began praying for us because I knew they had bought into something other than Jesus. I could see them jeering and even thought that I’d heard one of them hissing. Thankfully we got out of there pretty quickly.

As the tour came to an end, the tour guide mentioned that they have ghost tours that take you through The Cuban Club, where they have seen the spirit of a child who had drowned in the pool back in the heyday of Ybor. Let me remind you that if you have felt the presence of spirits in situations like these, you can bet you are in the presence of demons who’ve made themselves known to instill fear.

These two situations make it obvious where the spirits are coming from, but what’s less obvious is when it comes from the pulpit or an evangelist. Make sure you are prayed-up and tuned in to the Holy Spirit so you can distinguish the difference.

Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you heard was coming and now is in the world already. 1 John 4:1-3

Everyone who makes a practice of sinning also practices lawlessness; sin is lawlessness. 1 John 3:4

We see this verse play out on the news, television, movies, and even children’s cartoons. The left is pushing some of the most disturbing practices and requiring that Christians accept this behavior or receive punishment for calling it out as sin. My first reaction was anger, but after much thought and God pressing his heart upon me, I began to have compassion for the people who’ve fallen for the deceitfulness of the enemy. They’ve succumbed to their desire to be accepted by society rather than look to God for his acceptance. Now, because of their lack of a moral compass, and the healing salve of Jesus’s cleansing blood, they’ve fallen into sin are now lawless in the eyes of God. Many have tried to help them understand the devouring practice of the enemy, only to be shut down and called out as an adversary. Man is sinful, but God’s desire for us is righteousness, and there is only One, Jesus, who can make us righteous, and when we hide within him, God no longer sees our filth.

Pray that those who’ve been misled would be released from the clutches of the enemy and that they accept Jesus as their Savior. He welcomes anyone who believes in him and turns away from their sinfulness.
