August 7

On August 11, FEMA and the FCC have planned a nationwide emergency alert test. According to their website, the test will last for 30 minutes. It is preparation for an actual emergency that could affect everyone. These alerts are usually localized because of weather conditions. In Florida, we get these alerts during hurricanes, so it’s pretty standard for us. Why has this been taken from a local test to a nationwide test? What could possibly happen that would affect the entire country? They’ve also set a backup date for August 25th, in case there is an actual emergency on August 11th. This situation seems serious, which makes my cynical mind work overtime.

You can never be over-prepared for an emergency.  Here is the real emergency: Jesus is coming back! Be ready, without notice, to share the truth of who he is. His return will happen in a blink of an eye without alert. There is no time to wait! Prepare now! Use this post as an early warning. Get ready!

I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom: preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching. 2 Timothy 4:1-2

August 6

We may be at the precipice of our Christian existence. As we wait patiently for Jesus to take his rightful place as King, hold your position. As ambassadors in the land, we must make known to everyone the importance of Jesus in their lives, and to bring as many into the fold as possible and spare them from being scattered in the wind like chaff. The High Holy season is upon us, and though in the

United States, we fail to celebrate the appointed feasts, we should. Why would he tell us to keep his feasts to have us completely ignore that portion of scripture? Important things happen during those special times, and we will miss them if we don’t honor him by keeping them. Most of us weren’t raised to understand them, but as adults, we must now search out their meaning so that we comprehend prophecy. Here are the ones coming up. Do a little research. You will find some exciting things have happened during these times.

August 5

Today is Richard’s Birthday, so we got together last night to celebrate. Since we moved and now have the space, we have started having monthly family dinners. Doing this keeps them from isolating themselves, which is easy to do when the television keeps harping on a “pandemic.”

I tend to write a lot about the tragedy of this world and the expected coming of Jesus. Yes, this world is disappointing, but if we keep our attention on Jesus, then the battles we fight are not in vain. Remember, everything is not tragic; God has given us people to love, and we must love them with all our hearts. The following verses are vital to staying on task with the assignment given to us by God. Learn to live according to his Word, and it will make existing during this time in history much more joyful.

Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. Colossians 3:12-14

Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. On account of these the wrath of God is coming. Colossians 3:5-6

There is hardly anymore that I need to add to this because I feel like the time has come, and we will soon see God’s wrath poured out on evil. How could he allow the disgusting things we see to continue? What about all the things we don’t see, the unreported corruption? There is so much hidden under cover of darkness, but the light is coming! This era is not the “new normal,” but it won’t be the same after God implements his revenge! There is no need for you to worry; you are safe; he will not exact his punishment upon you because of Jesus. It’s time for it to end. I’ve had enough, haven’t you?

August 3

Make sure you don’t forget to pray specifically for the people you love who haven’t turned their lives over to Jesus. If the end is near, and by the looks of things, it may be close, because of the circumstances we are facing, I believe more eyes will be opened to the truth of who he is. Please give them a boost in the heavenly kingdom by mentioning their name. Now don’t get me wrong, the Word says that Christ-followers are predestined, but what if your specific prayer was part of the plan for their accepting the free gift of salvation? God is orderly, and all things happen for a reason. Make today the day that you buckle down and pray for those around you who need Jesus.

My brothers, if anyone among you wanders from the truth and someone brings him back, let him know that whoever brings back a sinner from his wandering will save his soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins. James 5:19-20

August 2

The Word of God was written to help us know God, but it can also help us to cope with our current situation; that’s why we call it the living word. It seems like everything I read in the Bible points to what is happening right now.

He disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in him. Colossians 2:15

We cannot forget this verse as we hear devastating news spewed all day and all night. Our world is not coming to an end; it’s the end for the powers and principalities, or as this verse says, the rulers and authorities. You see a last-ditch effort to confuse us and take our minds off the truth about what is happening. Our power to overcome lays squarely on the shoulders of Jesus, and he has already triumphed over them. We are seeing them scrambling to try and save themselves, and because there is no truth in them, their lies have become bolder. When you hear the news, remember we are safe from the consequences they face. The end is coming, but it’s the end of them, not us.

Generations have been waiting for this moment, but we are the ones chosen for such a time as this, and I couldn’t be more excited!

August 1

His momma taught him to love Jesus, and now he’s teaching his baby brother to love him.

If you have ever wondered what your purpose is, remember that even the simplest things we do can become works of God. Years ago, I begged God to show me my purpose; I wanted a job in the kingdom. I prayed for a long time, and then I began writing. Prayer answered.

Your purpose is probably different than mine; we all have responsibilities because we make up the body of Christ. We can’t all do the same thing; if we did, nothing would get done. Thankfully, God has it all planned out and knows the direction each of us will take; he has it well orchestrated. The best part is, you don’t even need to understand all the moving parts; you only need to listen to the Holy Spirit when he instructs you to act.

Don’t worry if you have no clue what your purpose is. One day, he will show you how your actions were part of his plan, and you will hear him say, “Well done my good and faithful servant.”

Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ. For this I toil, struggling with all his energy that he powerfully works within me. Colossians 1:28-29
