Isaiah 12
The Lord Is My Strength and My Song
One thing is clear about the people used by God in scripture: they praised and worshipped Him with songs. Isaiah, who received vast amounts of information from God through the Holy Spirit, felt compelled to share with us his worship of Him in Isaiah 12, giving us a glimpse of how he opened himself to receive downloads from Him. We can be used by God just as Isaiah was. The writers of the Bible were no more precious than you or I, but God used them as instruments to convey His truths and offer a look into who He is. There are a few key components to hearing God’s voice, but the main one is to submit your entire life to Him. We must also reverently display our passion and love for Him, search the scriptures to get to know Him, and sing praises to Him. For example, if your prayers aren’t being answered, you might worship Him with a song. In the Old Testament, before battles, God would send the praise team out first, and the enemy would buckle. Whatever you sing, make sure you sing it with the Creator in mind. Remember, Satan was the song leader in heaven, and he now lives here on earth with us and is the song leader here. Some of the songs he writes now are what we sing every day, so be mindful of who you are singing to because Satan would love nothing more than for you to worship him and call him god.
Sing unto the LORD; for he hath done excellent things: this is known in all the earth. Cry out and shout, thou inhabitant of Zion: for great is the Holy One of Israel in the midst of thee. Isaiah 12:5-6
