Isaiah 11
Jesus, The Righteous Branch
It doesn't matter where we are in the biblical timeline; the only thing that matters is Jesus. Even in the Old Testament, before Jesus' appearance, his coming into the world was predicted and expected. What does matter is that we know him and have a relationship with him. We must be careful not to allow our worldly involvement to hinder us from seeking him. We have to make our way in this world, but with the help of the Holy Spirit, we can keep our attention on Jesus to make it through. Swords are drawn daily, and we must fight the enemy because he comes after us with a vengeance, but because of our faith in Jesus, the enemy can easily be conquered by simply saying, "Get behind me, Satan!"
Sometimes I post things and make you think being a Christian is easy; it's not, and can be daunting and stressful if you let it. When your life becomes trying, and your hope seems to be failing, remember to reach out to Jesus, say a prayer under your breath, especially when being challenged, and watch him de-escalate your challenger quickly. This practice does a world of good for your emotions. Try doing it the next time the enemy is in your face and watch as Jesus subdues them.
But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked. Isaiah 11:4
