Isaiah 1 could be written for us today. We live in a society that has hardened its heart toward God. God rebukes and corrects it, but rather than soften, it stands firm and becomes even harder. Because of that, God allows it to remain unbroken and live in its own destruction. Remember, there are people out there that you try to bring to the saving knowledge of Christ who cannot hear it. No matter what you do, even sharing your own testimony of how you’ve overcome adversity through softening your heart and surrendering to Jesus, they will point their rejection at you, even though it is not you they are rejecting, but Jesus. Some people won’t make it when Jesus returns to judge the people and beings of this earth. As a testimony to the lost, stand firm in your commitment to Jesus and don’t let anyone persuade you otherwise. The enemy is cunning and will devour you if you even make a slight turn toward him. Avoid sin because it will not go well for you. You may be forgiven, but you may still suffer the consequences. If God didn’t spare Adam and Eve from the consequences of their actions in Genesis, what makes you think you are better than they are? Yes, you are saved for eternity, but you may still pay the price here on earth if you involve yourself with worldly sins.
Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil; Isaiah 1:16
If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land: But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it. Isaiah 1:19-20
