The Eternity of God
Lord, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations. Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God. Psalms 90:1-2
Our finite minds cannot fathom a Being that has always been and has no beginning or end. However, we know that our bodies will not last forever, but in our minds, we don't think we will ever die, which is the right way to think because our soul will go on, whether it is with God in heaven, or otherwise, the place prepared for those who deny Jesus, our Savior. So when the Bible says "In the beginning," we know God is referring to the beginning of the earth, the creatures, and us. God is the only one we can rest assured in and find comfort in because He will always be with us, never leaving us or forsaking us. We must also realize that our time is short and that He will hold us accountable for not using it wisely while on earth, and for dedicating it to loving Him and to loving others. If you haven't already, begin collecting and storing treasures in heaven, because in this earthly realm, time is short, and they will rust or rot.
So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom. Psalms 90:12
