Isaiah 32

A Peek At Jesus Millennial Reign

Though Isaiah's prophecy in chapter 32 is multi-layered and can be alluded to as a partial fulfillment during the reign of Hezekiah, a Christ-like figure, and also a partial fulfillment during Jesus' first coming, it is beneficial to view it as a picture of the conditions during his Millennial Kingdom.

Behold, a king shall reign in righteousness, and princes shall rule in judgment. Isaiah 32:1

Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years. Revelation 20:6

One of the questions that always lingered in my mind was: "Who will the righteous in Christ reign over if no one were left but the saved?" I had it all wrong. According to scripture, others also exist on earth during the Thousand-Year Reign of Christ, not only the saints! People still procreated, and there were still evil people, but it was the evil within themselves, not taunted by the enemy's lies. During that time, God's people are protected and live in peace and comfort.

And my people shall dwell in a peaceable habitation, and in sure dwellings, and in quiet resting places; Isaiah 32:18

One day, we will know what it is like to live peaceably. Wait for it; it will come.
