Isaiah 31

God, through His prophet Isaiah, warns Israel not to seek help from Egypt. They were set aside for a purpose and are protected by God, so they should only go to Him for help.

Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the LORD! Isaiah 31:1

This chapter seems to be a continuation of chapter 30, in which God encourages Israel to seek Him first. We are Israel, we’ve been adopted and grafted into the original vine, so if you don’t believe these things pertain to you, you are mistaken. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t believe the Israel we see today is the same people chosen by God; they are usurpers and are likely not of the lineage of the true Israel. Most J*ws are Ashkenazi, with only 3% of the ancient ancestry DNA, according to Beth Daley, Executive Editor and General Manager of The Conversation. In Israel, DNA testing is highly controlled. With that said, we are likely more connected to the Father than any J*w today.

The main point of this lesson and Isaiah 31 is to seek God first, before you make any life-altering decisions; in fact, try to seek Him about everything, and watch as He guides your actions. The benefits of living for Him outweigh living for yourself, and because you go to Him first, He will give you the desires of your heart.
