August 19, 2025

When God gives us a victory, we should shout it from the rooftops and exalt his name. Some commentators think that Psalms 76 was written by Asaph after a win against the Assyrians, who were led by Sennacherib. It explains that God broke their weapons and put their horses and chariots to sleep. Was that metaphorical, or did God actually break their weapons and put the horses to sleep? I don’t know, but it makes for an interesting song. The main point is that when the enemy comes after the meek, meaning the people of God, He stands up for them, making the way for victory, and judges those who are causing the trouble. However, it is our duty to offer worship, praise, and thanksgiving to Him, the maker of heaven and earth, who comes through for us when the enemy presses us.

Are we approaching total victory in Jesus? Is his return sooner than you think? Each year, during the Feast of Trumpets, which day or hour is never known because it depends on when the first sliver of the moon is seen, I wait in expectation every year for the appearance of our Savior, and this year is no different, but with even more expectation than ever before. Although the exact day may not be known, September 23 is approximately the time the Feast of Trumpets begins. Make sure you are ready and your lamp filled with oil, in case our Lord and Savior brings our ultimate victory!

Vow, and pay unto the LORD your God: let all that be round about him bring presents unto him that ought to be feared. He shall cut off the spirit of princes: he is terrible to the kings of the earth. Psalms 76:11-12
