Walking in the Spirit-Part 6
Eager Expectation
And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body. For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. Romans 8:23-25
Could we be more hopeful for the return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus, than we are now? Living in the tumult of this world is becoming more and more unbearable. The adoption party that God promised us couldn’t come quickly enough. Will it happen during the upcoming feast, Day of Atonement? God is the God of perfection, and I believe he created the holy feasts as bookmarks. Will we experience complete atonement with the appearance of our Savior, where he calls us to be with him, giving us a new body no longer tainted by sin? That’s hope with an eager expectation! We are all a bit unnerved by the onslaught of evil, sickness, and death. Do you think God is allowing us to experience the downfall of humanity so we place all of our hope in Him? That’s where we should be. This place is not our permanent home; our home is with Jesus, so wherever he is is where we want to be. Remember, we are hopeful but fearless, so if it doesn’t happen soon, God will give us the ability to endure. We are walking in the Spirit and faithfully enduring with eager expectation.
