June 18

We’ve all seen them. We know who they are. They preach a good biblical message, full of the Holy Spirit, and it’s so good that you want to hear more. Then they do something that disappoints you. Their behavior doesn’t match their anointing! I watched one preacher seething with anger; so angry that the words spewing from his mouth made me think he was possessed! The veins in his neck were showing and I couldn’t believe my ears! Though he destroyed our class, God picked up the pieces and put them back together into a beautiful mosaic. Jesus warned us about such as these. He spoke against the Pharisees and the scribes more than any others. They were considered blind guides, the blind leading the blind. He says we should observe and do what they tell us but not what they do. One thing to remember if you encounter such as these, they are only human, and all have sinned and fall short of God’s glory. They will be forgiven too if they love Jesus.

“The scribes and the Pharisees sit on Moses' seat, so do and observe whatever they tell you, but not the works they do. For they preach, but do not practice. Matthew 23:2-3
