Satan is the definer of death. Jesus defeated death and is the definer of life. Our sin is what brings on death. Job, in all that he was put through by the enemy, did not sin. If he had sinned, by cursing God during his trial, he would have surely died before receiving his reward. Job lost his health, all of his children, and his wealth during that trial. But, God had a plan. In order to bring glory to Himself and show that Job would not curse him, even under duress, He allowed him to be refined. In the end, God restored all that he had lost and doubled it. Don't give up before receiving your reward. Don't sin while you're waiting for it. You may not receive a reward such as Job's but there are rewards that are beyond the material, look for those, they will survive the fire and will not be eaten by moths. Our greatest reward is Jesus Himself and our eternity with Him, so hold on to what you've got while waiting.
In all this Job did not sin or charge God with wrong. Job 1:22
Behold, we consider those blessed who remained steadfast. You have heard of the steadfastness of Job, and you have seen the purpose of the Lord, how the Lord is compassionate and merciful. James 5:11
