May 2

Has the enemy deceived us? You bet he has! Will he twist and turn the scripture and use it to bring confusion? He did it to Jesus, so why wouldn’t he do it to you. Jesus knew the scriptures, but he didn’t allow the deception. Our only hope is to comb through the Bible and sort it out with many studies.  Me bringing up interesting topics, such as the rapture, which, by the way, is never mentioned in scripture, is to get you to do some of your own research. You will never know or understand God and what our future holds if you don’t sort it out in your mind. Ask questions, but don’t depend on someone else to answer them; search for the answers yourself.

One great lesson I learned during my Bible training was taught to me by my instructor. I would ask him a question, hoping he would clarify my concern, only to be met with, “That is a good question; let us know when you find the answer!” I’m paraphrasing because I don’t remember his exact words. So, if I share my thoughts and you disagree, dig deeper to increase your knowledge. The truth is, the real purpose of studying the Bible is to grow closer to Jesus, and there is nothing controversial about that.

You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that bear witness about me, John 5:39
