January 11

Many things happen under cover of darkness, and the followers of righteousness are praying hard for Jesus to turn on the light. It is not going to be a pretty sight when those things are revealed, and what we see may burn into our minds and leave a lasting impression. The hardest pill to swallow will be to see the religious leaders involved in the filthy underbelly of society, and it could be that many of us have followed such leaders. We must remember, if a church leader is exposed, he was the hired hand that Jesus spoke of in the book of John, and not the Shepard. We are to follow Jesus, not a man.

“He who is a hired hand and not a shepherd, who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees, and the wolf snatches them and scatters them. He flees because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep. I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me,” John 10:12-14

Buckle up, it’s going to be a rough ride, but just like a roller coaster that frightens our senses, we will land safely on the platform and exit the vehicle unscathed; that is, if we genuinely know the shepherd’s voice.
