I have all kinds of footstools in my house, and not one of them is shaped like a ball. When you imagine God’s feet on the earth as his footstool, do you see them contouring to the shape of the globe? I do. We can all agree that Isaiah was a prophet; the Bible makes that known to us. If the earth is a sphere, as we are told, why wouldn’t he know this information? God told him all kinds of stuff; why wouldn’t he have cleared up that misunderstanding if it’s genuinely a misunderstanding? I know what you’re thinking; you’ve seen the satellite photos, but seriously, who’s feeding us those photos? NASA. Who are they? A government agency.
This thought is not a hill to die on; all in all, it doesn’t matter. However, we are to believe the entirety of the God-breathed word, and according to these scriptures, God sits above the circle of the earth; it has a foundation, corners, and an end. Just a bit of food for thought for an inquiring mind looking for a bit of truth in a world full of lies.
It is he who sits above the circle of the earth, and its inhabitants are like grasshoppers; who stretches out the heavens like a curtain, and spreads them like a tent to dwell in; Isaiah 40:22
you whom I took from the ends of the earth, and called from its farthest corners, saying to you, “You are my servant, I have chosen you and not cast you off”; Isaiah 41:9
He set the earth on its foundations, so that it should never be moved. Psalms 104:5
