December 22

If Peter, who was with Jesus and saw all of his miracles, could deny him three times within an evening, how many times have you denied him in your lifetime? God help us all, we have received our salvation and still deny him daily as we are unable to refrain from sin. We are unworthy of his mercy, yet he loves us and forgives us of our weakness. What an awesome God we serve who, even in our sin, has given us a way to heal our iniquities. Jesus forgave Peter and even fed him breakfast after he rose from the dead; however, he also commanded him to feed his sheep. He has forgiven you much; be willing to help others receive that same forgiveness and feed Jesus’s sheep.

“Simon, Simon, behold, Satan demanded to have you, that he might sift you like wheat, but I have prayed for you that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned again, strengthen your brothers.” Luke 22:31-32


He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of John, do you love me?” Peter was grieved because he said to him the third time, “Do you love me?” and he said to him, “Lord, you know everything; you know that I love you.” Jesus said to him, “Feed my sheep. John 21:17
