My new favorite place is on the dock over the pond. I feel secluded, like I’m the only one around for miles. But because of years of neglect, walking out to it is scary because many of the boards are rotten, and I must carefully determine every step. Once I get to the gazebo, the planks are in good condition because they’ve always been undercover, and I can move around freely without fear of falling through. The boards going out to the gazebo are like being in the world, but we become free and safe once we get there. The same is true about our life in Christ.
Many of the steps we take in our lives are determined by whether we choose to accept Jesus’s free gift of eternal life or not. In most cases, a faithful Christ-follower would not decide to go against the urging of the Holy Spirit. Being the message of choice is back in the media, you must carefully determine your steps because this is a worldly issue; life is of Jesus. We are not of this world; we are already in the gazebo. If you don’t believe in life, you don’t have the Holy Spirit, which is a sure sign of whether you have Jesus. The Holy Spirit is our proof of salvation, and he helps us do the right thing, even if it’s not a pleasant choice. Thankfully, your mother chose life for you.
When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come. John 16:13
