We will know when Jesus returns. He warns us not to be deceived by those claiming to be him. His appearance will be spectacular, and there will be no way you could ever miss it. He said, “For as the lightning comes from the east and shines as far as the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.” His angels will gather us from the four winds and heaven. He will gather the people from heaven too! But why, if we were all being taken there? Let the scriptures guide you, and the Holy Spirit be your teacher. Much of what we are taught is out of order, maybe innocently, but not sound. Jesus will reign on earth for 1000 years; I’m excited to see him take over. Perhaps it’s after his earthly reign that we are raptured. I’m okay with that, aren’t you? I desire to be with him wherever he is, whether in heaven or on earth. Imagine how peaceful it will be. I get stuck on certain verses now and then that make me ponder. It’s good for us to meditate on his Word. 

And he will send out his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. Matthew 24:31

Then I saw thrones, and seated on them were those to whom the authority to judge was committed. Also I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus and for the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. Revelation 20:4
