I'm offended by the term "Good Friday." It goes against my heart, and I feel repulsed by it. Whoever came up with the label couldn't have loved Jesus. I mourn on this day and find no glory in it. I'm disturbed that Jesus had to endure our filth. However, I am grateful to him for what he did, but my heart breaks every time I read the account of his suffering. Nothing can compare to the love he showed us by giving his life for the redemption of our sin. Today, I mourn in remembrance of my Savior but come Sunday, I will rejoice because he overcame the darkness of death to give us hope for an eternity spent with him.
Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. John 15:13
