Spring brings some marvelous things. I’m especially intrigued by the birds that flock to Florida in droves to escape the cold. They bring me such joy because of their song and peace because of their presence. This year I received a special blessing, new life! Within my staghorn fern, a wren decided to make its nest. It was the perfect place and is within a closed space in my backyard, so large critters that could cause them harm cannot get in. I only notice when examining the fern while preparing to clean off the dead leaves. There they were, newly hatched babies waiting for their mom to bring them some dinner. I carefully took a picture and moved away so I wouldn’t disturb them. How sweet is it that we get to experience such things and that our magnificent creator draws our attention to his creations? Fresh new life is what happens every day as we release all the dead within us, making room for the presence of the Holy Spirit. Start fresh today; rid yourself of whatever is causing you stress and add something new that brings glory to God. After all, he is the only one we need to please.
My beloved speaks and says to me: “Arise, my love, my beautiful one, and come away, for behold, the winter is past; the rain is over and gone. The flowers appear on the earth, the time of singing has come, and the voice of the turtledove is heard in our land. Song of Solomon 2:10-12
