If someone came to you panicking, knowing you are a Christ-follower because they can see that the day of the Lord is drawing near or that something big is happening and fear has gripped them and asked how to become a Christian, what would you tell them? Your answer will come when you think back to the day you trusted Jesus with your own life and share your testimony, even if you were a child when it happened. Many of us come to know Jesus because of fear but have learned that it is trust that compels us to salvation. We must trust and believe that Jesus is the son of God, was born of a virgin, and came for our redemption from sin. We must trust and believe that he didn’t die in vain, that his death was a sacrifice for the penalty of our sins, and that the blood he shed was to wash us clean. We must trust and believe that after facing a tortured death on the cross, he rose from the dead after three days in the tomb and showed himself to many so they might tell others as proof he was alive. It seems like a lot to believe initially, but they wouldn’t be asking for help if the Holy Spirit hadn’t compelled them. And God wouldn’t have put them in your care if He didn’t believe you could handle it. Consider it a privilege and an honor to show someone the way to salvation. Don’t practice a speech, but know the basics and have those confirmed in your mind, but allow the Holy Spirit to guide you. Everyone is different, so what you tell one person may not be what helps another. It is the perfect season for us to cultivate souls for Jesus. Let’s help as many as we can, come to know our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Romans 10:9-10
