If you remember, Judas was one of the disciples and was valued among the others. They trusted him and made him the treasurer. We know he was a scoundrel because we have the evidence in the Bible to tell us that he was the one who led a rowdy crew to seize Jesus. We are told that he masqueraded as a follower of Jesus for the entire time. Jesus even washed his feet before the Passover feast, knowing he was about to betray him. Judas knew the truth, yet his heart was hard, and his taste for money overpowered his knowledge of who Jesus was. Nowhere does it say he stayed behind when the disciples went out on a training exercise when Jesus gave them the authority to drive out impure spirits and heal diseases and sickness. He knew the power that Jesus had. You can bet that the antichrist will do the same thing and deceive the elect just as Judas deceived the disciples. That must have stung! John writes a letter to a fellow worker to warn her of possible deception from those she serves and cautions her not to participate in their evil deeds. The devil knows we are vulnerable, loving, and supportive of those who claim Christianity, and he will take advantage of our kindness and send deceivers amongst us. Be careful who you believe.

For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist. 2 John 1:7

If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds. 2 John 1:10-11
