Did you know that God loves to see us happy? So much so that when we come before him with an offering, he wants us to cover the altar with gladness rather than tears. Look at this verse:

And this have ye done again, covering the altar of the LORD with tears, with weeping, and with crying out, insomuch that he regardeth not the offering any more, or receiveth it with good will at your hand. Malachi 2:13

We have much to be grateful for because God gives us everything we need, so when it comes time to make an offering of praise and worship him, we should be happy and not ruin our offering by complaining before him because of all our woes. Bringing sorrow before him shows him our lack of faith. Remember, his plan will succeed no matter what your emotions are. Today, if you are feeling down, do your best to turn your heart toward God, reach down within, and find a bit of joy to refresh your soul and show God how grateful you are for all he has given you. 

Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing. Psalms 100:2

And there ye shall eat before the LORD your God, and ye shall rejoice in all that ye put your hand unto, ye and your households, wherein the LORD thy God hath blessed thee. Deuteronomy 12:7
