I took down my bird feeder after a fat raccoon toppled it over. I decided it was best not to draw those types of creatures into our yard. However, I still feed the birds, but instead of a feeder, I throw the grain onto the sidewalk, and they flock to it like chickens. It was a great idea because now I get to see many varieties of birds eating together. They love it! I’ve had as many as six different breeds feasting together. Yesterday we even saw a daddy cardinal feeding its baby. I imagine my daily devotional is much like feeding the birds; I’m tossing out bits of grain to many different denominations and backgrounds. It’s like a snack. We each know how to feed ourselves, like the birds, but now and then, it’s nice to munch on a snack that someone else provides. One day we will all feast together at the table of the Lord; it will be glorious! I’ll bet there will be people there that we didn’t expect to see. Only one thing matters; we will be in the presence of the Lord. What an amazing day that will be!
He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness. You will be enriched in every way to be generous in every way, which through us will produce thanksgiving to God. For the ministry of this service is not only supplying the needs of the saints but is also overflowing in many thanksgivings to God. 2 Corinthians 9:10-12
