If you have not sought baptism, get it done. By doing so, you are openly professing your faith in Jesus. John baptized Jesus at the beginning of his ministry; after that, his disciples began water baptisms to all who became his followers. It may seem like a ritual, but it is an essential part of your calling into the kingdom of God. Three things are imperative to being a follower of Christ; first being converted by accepting Jesus as your savior, second, baptism representing death to your former life and the resurrection to a new life, and third being communion, symbolic of the eating of his body and the drinking of his blood, which should be done often along with confession. Now is the time if you haven’t done these things already. Start the new year on solid ground, and reaffirm your commitment to God.
As a way to thwart the plans of the enemy, I recommend that every Christian take communion tomorrow because communion requires confession, and we all need to lay our sins at the foot of the cross to get our country back on a firm foundation.
Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. John 3:5
