June 25

If you have a child that loves to dance but instead of letting them take dance lessons, you insist that they take piano. They hate piano lessons! The money you spent sowing that seed will be wasted and your child will probably not flourish as a musician. However, take that same child and put them in the activity they love, give them lessons, help them with direction, and that child may dance before kings! In your evangelism, the same holds true. Jesus shared His lessons to reach into the hearts of many. He met people where they were and told His stories in a way that made them relevant to the situations they were in. For instance, if He was talking to that child that loved to dance, He might use that information to drive His lesson home. It's important that we do the same thing when we're telling others about Him. Use something they know about to help them understand the message of Jesus so that it gets buried deep in their heart.

"Have you understood all these things?" They said to him, "Yes." And he said to them, "Therefore every scribe who has been trained for the kingdom of heaven is like a master of a house, who brings out of his treasure what is new and what is old." Matthew 13:51-52
